In June, Elf released a highlighting palette it was called the Ambient Palette and it disappeared soon after its release. A lot of people were upset and then a lot theories came about maybe they didn’t have enough stock to fill the demand but a theory that now seems a bit more logical was the name of the palette was the same as the Hourglass Ambient® Lighting Palette [ Meaning you Ambient® is trademarked], Elf have now released the Illuminating Palette, different name but the palette is exactly the same.
The great thing about this palette is its a great dupe for the Hourglass Ambient® Lighting Palette. These shades aren’t overwhelmingly shimmery, they’re much more subtle than your average highlight, pretty much the same deal with the Ambient lighting Palette.
Texture-wise, they feel a bit different than the Hourglass powders. Both a very pigmented but Hourglass does win in this aspect. Elf will crumble a little while Hourglass doesn’t but at $6 vs $58, I can deal with a little bit of crumbling. Results for both a very similar.
Do you have the e.l.f. Illuminating Palette or Hourglass Ambient® Lighting Palette? I would love to hear your thoughts…
